So my dad is coming to visit tomorrow - his second time to San Antonio and his first to see my house (I was still in an apartment last time). Our original thought was to go to Austin for July 4th and stay over night and watch the fireworks there but it looks like it may be a wash out? I'm assuming fireworks will be canceled both in Austin and here if it is raining? Anyone know? Also - does anyone know a good / cheap downtown Austin hotel to stay out if we still decide to go? I can't believe I've lived here a few years and I've only made it to Austin once before and that was for a day trip!

You need to go to Austin at night...wait that depends on what you are trying to do at night... the clubs are great, for the most part safe, and people are cool, (thats a good word to use)...sorry don't know any hotels but congrats on your home, im sure your father is excited for you!
