$165 for TW Cable/phone/internet, incl 1 DVR box. I have to call them up and see if they can magically find me a better deal 'cause this one sucks.

Uverse is AT&T's answer to cable tv. They have built there own digital Infrastructure encompassing internet tv through the same pipe. Don't do it, don't switch to uverse unless you want headaches.

I had the DigiPic/RoadRunner Pack, which was $125 a month and included the Variety Service and a Premium, plus another five for my HD tier. However, they were fifteen hours late to install it, so after about 7 angry phone calls, I got it dropped to 105. Then, when after some MORE angry phone calls they sent a tech out to boost my signal, he told me about a special they were running where if I switched from AT&T to digital phone that they would give me all three services for 99/month, and throw in a year of The Movie Channel and Showtime for free.
You can only get that deal through a tech, and if you're switching from another phone provider, btw - I'd call and say that you're having cable problems. Also, one very important thing I have learned in all my travails with TWC - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure that they send you an actual TW employee tech, and not one of their terrible contractors. The contractors are barely literate, and have no clue what is going on.
I really wanted to try Grande - their triple pack was very well priced. However, their 1-800 number told me that even though they've laid the lines in Olmos Park, they aren't providing service yet.
I live near several AT&T bigwigs, all of whom have Uverse, and all of whom have the AT&T truck parked in their driveways at least twice a week. I'm waiting until they get the kinks out of that thing before I bother looking into it.

from what I've read on uverse most features aren't available and are delayed. I had at&t for local phone service when I first moved to SA, but dropped them because they nickel and dimed me to death and their customer service was among the worst I've ever had. The worst part was their phone system constantly hung up on me. For some reason the employees I talked to couldn't understand the irony of that...

Bare-bones basic cable - pretty much network channels... $12.95.
You can sign up for AT&T DSL for $10 right now - see :
AT&T $10 DSL Today - For new users, online only, one-year contract - dslreports.com News
We use our cell phones instead of a land line, so don't have the land line expense. If we really need a "home phone", we could sign up for one of the VOIP providers for less than $20 a month...

Digipic RoadRunner Package (cable :$111.95
+ DVR $9.95
+ taxes $$135.85
I have at&t phone and cell, I'd love to get their DSL and tv if only it wasn't satellite, plus it must be cheaper than what I'm paying right now for me to make the switch.

UVERSE:
A lot like Time Warner's All Digital Service. I think UVERSE is all fiberoptic. Here's a link:
