No name yet, this 250,000 square foot retail center is to be built on the northeast corner of 1604 and Bulverde Rd. The anchor tenant will be Lowe’s. More as I can find it.

I recall that the SA city council did not approve the zoning change to allow Lowes to build over the recharge zone. This project has been on the Birnbaum Property web site for quite some time. I assume the entire project got stalled when Lowes was lost as the major tenant.

I remember that case, actually the Lowe's will be built as the developer moved the Lowe's site a little east from what I remember of the proposed original site and because of that would have fewer, much fewer restrictions.

Looks like that's what they did from the site plan.

Oh well this one is cool though - I hope that one follows through. We would love a Lowes nearby!

I drove by this yesterday, and it's under construction. I saw the Chase Bank was done or nearly finished.

Ok, somebody help me. The right side of my brain isn't kicking in. Will the shopping center still be in the originally planned spot and the Lowe's will be in a different spot within the center? I can't figure out where the HEB is going to be. Where is this in relation to the Valero that is there now?

Isn't the Chase branch outside 1604 at Bulverde?

This is on the northeast corner of Bulverde and 1604 so the Valero would be directly across 1604 on the southeast corner. I believe HEB is going in on the northwest corner.

The HEB is on the north west corner of the Bulverde/1604 intersection and is shown on the drawing above. The Valero is on the South East Corner of the intersection. This will really be nice and will be a big help to those living up Bulverde Road.

I read that there is six million square ft of retail under construction in San Antonio currently and another five or six million planned or proposed.

They just listed another 500 or so acres for sales along that area, I haven't heard if Lowes is still planning to builkd there, The new HEB at BLanco is supposed to rival Walmart they will have a garden center as well, I saw the one at Potranco last week, small but impressive, the plants are healthy, prices are higher than Lowes and HD.
