I am stealing Turtlemom's (hope that's okay Turtle...I was wondering the same) question from another post to start a new thread. Does anyone know what all they are building at the corners of Bulverde and Evans???? We just bought a house there...maybe I should have asked this earlier 210...know anything????

Thanks little_thristy!
I do know there is supposed to be a CVS on the NE corner, and then the NW corner has had a sign forever saying that it's Evan's Marketplace ready Fall 2006 (or something like that!) The SW corner just got cleared recently and the SE corner is the Walgreens.
I'm just hoping it's something good instead of more Nail Salons and Insurance Brokers

Turtle mom- I concur-we do not have a decent restaurant in the area. I hope that Whole Foods or Trader Joe come in the area

Agreed- and when it's done we can all meet there for lunch
I am hoping that with the PGA Resort they will put in a higher end grocery store in the retail shops in there. There will be time shares and resort homes, so they will need a grocery store. Trader Joes would be great. I also would love somewhere like AJ's in Arizona, those were great!

Hey guys- I checked out AJ's and its my kind of grocers. HEB quality is awful, I shop a lot at Sun Harvest. A great place to by meats is Granzin in New Braunfels-IH35 At Walnut Exit.
Lunch- I can't wait. Has anyone tried the BBQ restaurant yet?

We tried Smokey Mo's - it was good, ok. Not outstanding. Turkey was dry, Brisket was ok - not super tender, chopped with sauce was pretty good though.
I don't eat at BBQ joints very often though so I don't know if I'm a good judge! Iron Works in Austin is my favorite. I think Toms is pretty good. This one was not as good as those but I think it has potential!
We also ordered pizza from VJ's - toppings were great, the sausage was real Italian Sausage. The cheese was good, sauce was good. We gave the crust 7/10 (Yes - we actually rated it! lol) It is a hand tossed crust and nothing special, it was a little soft - didn't hold up under all the toppings. But it was a nice change from Papa Johns or Costco pizza. Pricey though - 18" deluxe is $20.
