Ya, lol, another poster claimed it would not be self defense if someone tried attacking me while I was in my vehicle, which of course means they were attempting to forcefully enter my vehicle to assault me, of course something like that would make me fear for my life, even if I did not it would still be covered by the castle doctrine. You can believe someone coming at me with a beer can is going to make me roll up my windows, if stuck in traffic there is no where to run, so if someone is legitimately breaking into your property to get at you then the priority is definitely staying alive.

True. I've a guest in my home right now that just moved from Europe. They recently had a store owner shoot and kill an armed robber. He had to pay for the funeral, his future lost wages - and is now facing a prison term. That is part of what drove my friend to move to the US. Currently, using force against a criminal is itself illegal in his home country (Amsterdam).

I'll stay here, thanks.

The need for guns is simply because of guns being in the wrong hands.

If indeed the guy was just some unknown mal-meaning intruder, I do agree.....

"you have the right to defend yourself".....I do vehemently-agree herein, but I have certainly noticed of others who, by their exasperatingly-vile legislative rhetoric and despicably-unjust enforcement actions, really do seem to think that only A Certain Elite Few hold the exclusive monopoly on Self-Defense.....

Agreed. Words, words, words, words, and words are one thing. Actions, actions, actions, actions, and actions are another. Sometimes too much Endless Talking and Indecisive Rationalizing is just flat-out counterproductively-disastrous, especially right in the heat of the moment.....

"The woman sleeping in the bedroom then retrieved a revolver she kept under her pillow ..."

I wonder why she slept with a revolver under her pillow.
Did she expected a "visitor" or was that her normal habit?

"Investigators say 28-year-old Guadalupe Valenzuela broke into a 50-year-old woman's home."

"...the two knew each other and the woman told them she had rejected his sexual advances in the past."

Looks like this guy was really desperate...
