Just a reminder, the Rock & Roll Marathon is this Sunday, 14 November:

Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon and Half Marathon – November 14, 2011

If you're not participating, you may want to avoid the downtown area and the Mission Trail that day!

R&R Marathon Route Map & Road Closure Information.

Thanks for the reminder. Streets are already being closed and made ready for closing. I think I plan to hole up in the house until Monday. I'll sit on the porch and wave as they go by. That's my exercise for the day on Sunday.

Even more reason to steer clear if you're not a participant or spectator...

Quote:
Turnout for the third Rock ‘n' Roll San Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon this weekend is expected to match its first year, which could mean about $21 million in visitor spending for the city.

Organizers said about 30,000 people have registered for Sunday's marathon and half marathon...

Online registration closed Nov. 7, but people still can sign up today. If enough people sign up, the event could reach last year's numbers and come close to selling out at 32,000 (full story)
Great for the city, but crazy if you have to travel through any of the areas where the route goes!

Cheers! M2
