Income should never be a deterrent to being a responsible pet owner, so thank you Shawn for looking for resources to spay/neuter your pet.
Try these resources:
OwnUp SA periodically holds $25 spay/neuter & microchip events, and their site has links to low-cost vets in SA

SNAP mobile clinic: Spay-Neuter Assistance Program: Welcome to SNAP - San Antonio Mobile Clinic Schedule

Just an FYI....the Texas Veterinary Clinic that CelesteDF provided a link for--I ended up paying about $140 for my kitty to be neutered there. By the time he had all his shots, etc. (he was a fleabag stray!) it was still fairly cheap, but just cautioning that they are not necessarily "affordable" for someone looking for a quick spay/neuter. They are really nice, though, and their pet portal is great! Lets me know when Scout needs anything.

Do you know where I can get my cat's annual vaccinations done for cheap - without needing to qualify for low income?

Call Locke Hill feed store....they have a mobile vax clinic at least once a month or so.....also, HEB's are always hosting the clinics as well. One of the links CelesteDF provided probably has that info. The Culebra/1604 HEB just had one this past Sunday, but they are held pretty frequently.

SNAP usually has a long wait list, with pretty strict rules as what time to check in for your appt. and when to pick up your baby - but they are a wonderful organization and I am so very greatful for their staff and board.

I took one of my dogs here and it was cheap (less that $50 for all his booster and rabies vacs) and the staff was really nice.
Pet Vaccination Clinic
1010 SW Military Dr
San Antonio, TX 78221-1531
(210) 923-5721
I've also used this service before, no problems and cost about $50 for two chihuahuas. Hope this helps!
Welcome to Vanguard Vet. Assoc., Inc.'s Web Site!
These are both "no frills" kinda places (Vanguard is a "mobile" clinic usually at HEB parking lots) - get in, get out kinda thing. Hope this helps!

OMG!!! San Antonio Vets Have truly got a good thing goin on!! They've just recently doubled the cost of spaying and neutering from 30 to 40 dollars to 60 to 80 dollars and some are paying twice that and feeling it was still reasonable!! This explains why vets think they can get away with this incredible rip off. You must be responsible to own a pet but you don't have to be stupid!!
Two of the oldest veterinary clinic's on the Southside have recently totally rebuilt and expanded their facilities! Guess who pay's???

Wait, I'm confused. My vet quoted nearly $250 for a spay for a cat.
SNAP charges $50.
How is your vet charging $80 unreasonable?
In addition, I personally have no problem paying for social services for ANY city I LIVE in.
Explain your anger?
