Our hot water heater is out and the part will take 3 days to get here. Anyone know of a company that rents portable hot water heaters we could run into the hot water line? Insurance is paying for rental so not so worried about the cost. Thanks!

If your water is already hot, why do you need a heater for it?

Must be electric! Most gas water heaters have fairly interchangeable parts. Thermostat, thermocouple, pop-off valve etc. These could be found at many supply houses. Electric full size and under counter heaters are much less common. Rentals for water heaters ...never heard of such a thing.

ummmm....that's why I asked the size. Most likely this was a commercial/multi unit property - not unusual for them to rent.

Maybe so that didn't occur to me. Never heard of such rentals though of any kind ..boilers or large water heaters. Doesn't mean they aren't out there. Must be a costly service with the labor and such for a temporary fix.

It is quite expensive. Don't do it, but have referred several to companies that do. Obviously, the OP wasn't in that big a need - they've not been back.
