We've discovered that our BBQ Grill has rusted through and we need to dispose of it so that we can purchase a new one. How do you get rid of this type of refuse? Where I moved from we had a city municipal drop where you could take household trash (non-hazardous). I live in the North Central area of the city just south of Bulverde. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Try calling the city sanitation/waste department. Also, check into a landfill site.

When was your one last Bulky Collection if you live within San Antonio? Just do not toss it away into any of the two Brush Collections.

Here are some other options through the city.

Hey Mililani Gal, howzit?

Last summer I took our old grill apart and put it in the brown trash bin, and they took it away.

Leave it by the street in the evening. It'll be gone by morning.

Do not leave it out on the curb outside of brush collection allocated times. You can possibly get a ticket for doing this. It has happened in my neighborhood when people put out bulky items on the curb hoping someone will take it away.

I would recommend taking it apart and putting it inside the brown trash bin like someone here already suggested.

Put it on the curb with a sign saying something free scrap metal. I also put adds on craigslist. I've gotten rid of a BBQ, lawn mower, and a trampoline this way. Someone responded to my lawn mower ad within 15 mins of it being posted and it was gone within a half hour of being put curbside.
