I've been here in SA for 2 weeks, loving it.
I haven't yet had some authentic Mexican food (taco Cabana doesn't count; however, it was better than what I was use to (Taco Bell). Any recommendations of any place north of 410?

Los Robertos got a failing grade on WOAI....failed health inspection miserably. Blanco Cafe at Blanco near 1604 has THE best enchiladas in SA.

Guajillo's - My favorite place in the city.

Chilaquiles con carne asada - delicious
Tostada de picadillo - delicious
Fideo soup - absolutely delicious, specially with lemon
FYI, the tortilla soup is very strong, I don't remember seen anybody eating and enjoying it.

I still go get my tripas tacos from time to time from there but other than that, I will not get anything else. Places on my list to try soon, Los Cucos, El Mirasol, El Jarro de Arturo

Some will tell you that you can't get authentic Mexican food in SA.

However, for some good Tex-Mex, we always enjoy el Chaparral in Helotes.

Cheers! M2

Many people confuse authentic Mexican food with Tex-Mex. They are really totally different things. Personally, I prefer Tex-Mex over authentic Mexican food.

Agreed, I think it doesn't occur to many until they actually go to Mexico and are suprised that the menu doesn't look like the one at Taco Bell!

But I do love Tex-Mex as well; unfortunately, I can't afford to continually buy larger-sized pants, so I have to limit my consumption of it!

Cheers! M2
