No.

But like TexasRedneck said, it's part of the "entry" to the hill country.

I used to live in Helotes. I could see all of western SA from my deck. I used to tell my friends I lived on the first hill of the Hill Country.

If you consider this map to be the "official" boundaries of the Hill Country, Helotes is on the southernmost edge of it...

As for San Antonio itself, my answer is 'no,' the town is in view of, but not part of, the Hill Country.

Cheers! M2

Most of San Antonio could not be considered as part of hill country, but given the aggressive annexation of land by the city, much of what is now within city limits north/northwest of 1604 might be considered as part of it or at least the edge of it... sorta like the western part of Austin and the areas around lake Travis and West Lake Hills.

But in any case, at least we could say we are near it.

Sure, parts of San Antonio are the Hill Country; but I would never say the city itself is in it.

The SA city limits are screwy, we are outside of them but there are places far west of us that are in (211 north of 471, west of Government Canyon, for example).

Still, it's close enough!!
