Study: Michigan left turns are the right way to go | MLive.com

So who thinks that the 281 SuperStreet has significantly helped the situation?

It's helped but not in a huge way. Of course it was never meant as a final solution, just a band aid really.

I would say for off peak times, it is awesome.

I like it. I'd probably be annoyed by having to turn right to go left if I lived up there.

It sounds like a more complicated version of a roundabout to me.

That's a good analogy. You really should go up there and see it sometime. IMO, it represents some clever engineering.

It's really an elongated, oval rotary (roundabout)

It has made an amazing difference. I'm not sure if all of you have been on the super street but the improvement is dramatic. I used to avoid 281 like the plague, now I use it all the time. Not only that, traffic has improved on Stone Oak as well (of course the Blanco completion has helped this as well).

If I were still in SA maybe I would but I'll be back for a few days here and there this spring to finish wrapping everything up.

To be honest it sounds exactly like what I used to do at Huebner / 1604 when I would come from the westbound access road. I'd usually take a quick right onto Huebner, turn around quickly at the big church and then continue straight on Huebner to go inside the loop. It was a whole lot faster than waiting on the light 9 times out of 10. But it's still a less efficient way to handle the intersection than a big roundabout, haha.

The SuperStreet has changed my life. Before the SuperStreet, I was depressed, didn't drive much and my hair was lackluster and dull. But thanks to the new SuperStreet and it's innovative design, I now drive further, in a shorter amount of time and my hair is glossy and manageable.

THANKS SUPERSTREET! *thumbs up*
