Just wondering how long this particular flu strain is lasting in San Antonio. Probably the worst one I've ever had in my life.
Did you get this despite the flu shot? ...or did you not get
the flu shot?

Not being judgmental here... just wondering how effective this
years vaccine is.

I had a nasty cold back in November that refused to get better
on its own... it took a shot in the bum, some meds, a puffer and
a coupla weeks to get over it.

No, no flu shot.

I can't remember the last time I got the flu, but I will surely remember this one!

I guess phase 1 (fever/chills) is over, now on to head congestion and migraines.

Saw 4 movies the last 2 days: The Town (A++), Social Network (B), The Parking Lot (B+), Buried (A).

Been craving fresh raspberries...

Buried? I couldn't even make it through the previews.

I think the cravings and the nausea mean you might be pregnant, T-Nick.

re: flu shot - the boerne cases include 2 I know of that had meds (shot or mist) and got it anyway. Seems like the vaccine might've missed the exact strain or something. My 7 year old has been sick since Thurs 13th.

88, Has your child been to school at all? We missed all last week and I am seriously thinking he will be out tomorrow too.

Thanks to this thread I realized our 12 year old daughter has the flu. She has had those same symptons since thursday 1-20-2011 around noon time. Thanks. She has been on a Ny-Quil and vitamin c and Day-Quil regimen. She is still sick as we post, but she is feeling a little bit better though. I am wondering about school tomorrow. She always keeps perfect attendance.

mama - he has been out of school since the 13th. The only time he has been fever free for over 24 hours was this weekend, Thurs nite/Fri morning to Saturday midday. Now he has new symptoms - deep non productive cough (was coughing up gunk before) and a higher fever (102 vs 100 ish) that responds only sluggishly to meds. Almost took him to urgent care today but his fever finally went down. Might take him back to doc tomorrow; doc on Friday didn't do any cultures, decided he had flu and brother had something bacterial. Brother is better and will be at school tomorrow (knock on wood!!!) he has been out since MLK holiday.
