Hello all!

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good travel agent or travel agency for me. My boyfriend's family and I (13 total) are hoping to plan a trip to Las Vegas for the end of this year and need to find some good prices/group rates.

I have been with Rennert Travel however, we are hoping to see all of our options.

I did a quick search on the forum but didn't really find too much of what I was looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

THANKS!

Although I plan most of our trips (and we travel 300K + miles/year) now, I've used Virtuoso's services in the past.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I've always wondered if it were cheaper to book hotel/flights online yourself, or go through an agency? Or, exactly what are the pros/cons versus the two.

There are many variables. What type of traveler are you? Amateur, experienced? What type of travel are you looking for? Luxury, economy or maybe business travel? Like to travel off the beaten path, major cities? Alone, with friends or tours?
I've been traveling for over 30 years and I can tell you that the more experienced I became, the less I needed others (agents). Even if you don't travel extensively, there is an awful lot of information/reviews out there on the internet that can be of aid.
Sorry to be so vague, but not everyone is the same. A lot depends on what you're comfortable with.

I typically book online on my own (200 nights on travel last year between work and play but fewer airline miles). You actually got some pretty good advice there... I guess the only other thing is that if you're going to a place that's truly unfamiliar and you can't find a lot online about for what to do in the area at least try and pick a hotel with a good concierge desk. They'll help you out.

So is there not really any need for Travel Agents these days, for say state to state basic travel?
Like say a trip between Texas and within two places in California?

I normally don't use an agent. So much is available online with sites such as travelocity, funjet, expedia .... that can book an entire vacation to include excursions. When you book with any other these sites to an all inclusive resort you also have the option to purchase your transportation as well and then they take care of you at the resort to book your excursions. You can use tripadvisor to always get reviews from real people on the resort but of course some reviews will be bad and others will be good. It is what you take it to be. I never have used a travel agent with everything at my finger tips.

Penguin927 is right. Last year I used a travel agent to arrange a tour abroad and I did not like the tour itself at all. Next time I'm using what's available online.
