In the Austin forum, there's a poster who said his power had been off many times so far and hadn't been ON for more than 15 minutes at a time today.

The CPS Facebook page says that another round of outages is possible today.

So it was out for 45 minutes and has been back on since 10:20. This is probably going to continue for a couple of days?

I woke up to my power being out here in the San Antonio College area but it just came back on 30 minutes ago. I decided to cook something before my elecriticty goes out and I'm just getting ready to eat.

I have to go out and do something today but I really don't want to leave my apt. I wish someone would have gave us notice regarding these blackouts. According to a City of SA 311 call operator, these blackouts could last until Friday.

We may even see snow Thursday night into Friday morning! Luckily I got my brand new high-definition camcorder a couple of weeks ago.

Meanwhile, in Rwanda, a child dies every 10 seconds due to lack of water....

What we complaining about again?

Tone it down, folks. Bunch of whiners in here. Your power will be back on in a bit. Put on some extra clothes for gods sake.

Just turned on KSAT 12 News. According to them, a failure this morning in some electrical grid caused the blackouts to be initiated.

Hmmmm. I wonder how long it'll last?

CPS: 'Not enough' power in Texas for widespread frigid temperatures | kens5.com | San Antonio News, Weather, Sports, Traffic, Entertainment, Video and Photos

from a rep at cps. I think he blew it when he said at the end "we will see in the future about notifying hospitals and other important customers".......so aren't all customers important?
