Interesting - my '08 F150 Crew Cab w/5.4 engine delievers high 16-low 17 mpg city and up to 22 mpg highway. With 80k on it to date, I've had *zero* repairs done to it, and as indicated by the mileage, it gets used! Everything on it is OEM (other than the routine fluids an' filters) - even the brakes. I DID have to put new tires on it last week - went with the same ones that came on it, because I figured 80k miles on a set of tires was pretty darned good! Brakes look good for at least another 20k miles, too.

Tacoma's are good trucks. If you want one made in San Antonio get an extended cab, the 4 door ones are made in Mexico.

I'm a Ford everything guy. I went to the Toyota plant and did the tour. I was very very impressed. Even if you don't get the Toy, go take the tour. That's one hell of an operation there. Amazing.

I love the Toyota Tacoma. I had a 2006 4.0 V6 extended cab with the TRD package. NO issues at all awesome truck. I towed in it a few times, towed my friends boat with no issue 6,500 lbs of towing, and 17-22 mpg. . I needed more room so I recently traded it in for a Toyota Tundra crewmax with the TRD package. So far Im getting 15.5-19.00 which isnt bad in my opion for the size. I still miss the Tacoma thought, those are sharp looking trucks.
