Now this is a reccomendation for someone that wants the job done right by a reputatable company with a quality unit from a Trane:

Flo-Air installed mine about 8 years ago and did a great job and had the best price.

My mother just had her A/C replaced this past spring and she got quotes from at least 10 different places and Flo-Air was still the cheapest(she is old and had nothing better to do than call every company in the yellow pages). And this did not include any of the rebates (CPS or Federal.)

In Texas I would not install any brand other than Trane or Carrier. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. If you want to go "The Hill Country Fair" route with your A/C in Texas...be my guest and good luck.

I use Al Matheny HVAC for all my stuff and all my clients'. Incredibly honest. Small company and is very fair on pricing. Been in business a long time. 365-0646

Call Tom at Extreme Air. He didn't install central air for me, but he's done a bunch of work at my house. Fair and honest.

AIRTRON redid my whole system and I've got quite a large space (7 tons of AC). They weren't the cheapest, but they sat somewhere in the middle, had the most professional presentation and did the job very well.

I recommend them highly.

I JUST had this done to my 90 year old house in December. I used B-Kool AC & Heating. Great, honest guys. Al truly cares about his reputation and doing the job right. They were super affordable too.

Jon Wayne wanted to give me a 5 year old (but still in package) system "for free" but the vents and labor and everything else was quoted at 25k still. It was like 2 or 3 seer ratings below the one I actually got from B-Kool.

B-Kool gave me a brand new system, vents, uv lights, labor for less than $10k. I'm not exaggerating! I was so put off by Jon Wayne's estimate after speaking to Al and Victor.
