Punish everyone for the acts of a few? Makes perfect sense.

I'm down for making it dry. So far this year I've had one sip of wine and a couple sips of a drink my wife got at Joe's. I can easily live without anything ever again, or while on vacation in another area.
People just can't handle it here and it's a majority too, not some fringe minority.

Punish everyone? Does that mean everyone in SA drink? Makes perfect sense.

It was sarcasm. I know it will not happen. It was wishful thinking on my behalf.

Back on topic: I do feel really bad for the child of this police officer. Terrible thing to happen.

Sorry RD, while drunk-driving is a major issue here; it's nowhere near the majority of people who are doing it!

And making Bexar county dry to combat it? Ridiculous, what we need are more stringently-enforced laws and penalties for doing so.

The rest of the population does not need to nor should they suffer for the poor judgment of a few...

What kind of suffering? Oh right, not being able to drink. I forgot.

Ah....the Nanny-state mentality....if you don't like it, make it illegal. That works really well, and is cognizant of the rights of the majority of folks that obey the law, right?

MOST of the folks arrested for DUI ain't strangers to the charges - there's a HUGE pool of repeat offenders out there. The issue is with the DA's that plead out to lesser charges because it's "easier", the Judges that pass light sentences, and the juries that let 'em blame everyone but their own stupidity.

Go look in the mirror...is the problem looking back?

"just noticed the stupid drunk died too, so at least something good came out of this awful situation.. one more down, who knows how many hundreds of thousands left to go"

Better watch it, RD, someone is going to be offended by this (said sarcastically). I agree, I certainly don't feel bad for the ignorant bas*ards who kill innocent people, my heart and tears go out to the victims and their families.

Christopher David Baldaramos, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Public records show he has lived in San Antonio since 2005 and his lawyer said he had served eight years in the U.S. Army.

He pleaded no contest to a driving while intoxicated charge in September stemming from a June arrest and was granted probation, according to Bexar County records.
