And you Babcock/Tanglewood people can stop whining about construction. What?

That intersection is busy, but the problem is the drivers, not the sprawl. About 1 in 7 drivers thinks that THEY are the chosen ones! THEIR time, vehicle, job, hell, their BELLY BUTTON LINT is the most important in town. It's really not about the 'burbs, honest. The same crappy drivers live and drive all over this town.

Just THINKING about all the places that people cut in line around town raises my blood pressure. That and people not yielding to you.

If you're supposed to stop at the line then the second set of lights are a waste of our tax money. Take them down and people will start stopping at the line. There's also no need for 2 permanent green lights in the right two lanes.

Then of course there are the people who insist on pulling out of parking lots on 55 mph frontage roads, causing the person in back of them to have to slam on his/her brakes because the parking lot person couldn't wait one more second for that person to pass, after which the coast was clear.

OMG... You just hit on my ultimate San Antonio Peeve...This happens so much... and I am jumpy about it because I was hit by someone running a Stop Sign. I can't believe they do that. It's always a crappy economy car, like a 97 Mirage too.

No kidding, just take down the second set and presto, people will stop at the first. I do see the need for the green lights bc of all the dumb dumbs that will be stopping on the highway for no reason.

BTW, hubby said the sign is there so that people do stop back away from the oncoming traffic thus preventing potential accidents. Which takes us back to... TAKE DOWN THE SECOND SET OF LIGHTS!

I've always considered that second set of lights a HUGE waste of money. I have no idea how much they cost, but I'm sure it is far from cheap. They could take that savings and start fixing all the broken lights in this city. They can also make them smarter. I can't count how many dumb lights I sit through just because they don't work or they are on a set schedule that makes absolutely no sense at all. Gas is way too expensive for that!

You almost have to let them in though. I can handle someone who cuts me in a line and deal with them. When you are talking about someone handling 2 tons of steel irresponsibly, I'd rather hang back and let them go on their way. They are safer to me infront of me where I can see them versus behind me.

What's worse is when they do that when there are two lanes open plus the lane I am in. Where do they turn? Not one of the open lanes. Right into the lane I am in. When I go to change lanes rather than slam on the brakes, they immediately start a slow crawl into another lane so you have no idea where they are planning to end up.
