Y'all know I like to pass on positive experiences we have with local businesses, and I want to add another one to the list!

My wife had some minor surgery on Wednesday that required her to spend the night in the hospital. We got home late yesterday and saw a note on our door stating that the Edible Arrangments store in Alamo Ranch had stopped by to make a delivery from my Mom while we were out.

Unfortunately, we had to go back to see the doctor this morning so I wasn't able to call them until later this afternoon. I spoke to a really nice man named Les and told him I could stop by as I had a few errands to run in that area.

When I went by his shop, Les told me he wasn't happy with the current state of my wife's fruit arrangement (two strawberry roses dipped in chocolate!) and that he was making a up a new one! I only had to wait about ten minutes for him to complete it, and it was spectacular! The strawberries were huge and were alternately dipped in dark and white chocolate. My wife loved 'em, and it put a happy ending to what had been a long and trying day!

Each Edible Arrangements store is independently owned and operated, and I am not sure if Les is the owner but if by chance he isn't than he is one heckuva great employee!

In case anyone isn't familiar with Edible Arrangements, they are a creative and (somewhat) healthy alternative to sending flowers. Their "bouquets" are made of fruit and can be "complemented with chocolate dipped fruit including dipped strawberries, dipped pineapple daisies, dipped banana slices, dipped Granny Smith apple wedges and more!"

They cost about the same as sending flowers (so not cheap!), but while flowers may be nice to look at; these are the same but delicious as well!

So, kudos to Les at the Alamo Ranch Edible Arrangements (5519 West Loop 1604 #104, just up from Freebird's Burrito. (210) 682-3100 or email: tx1158@do fruit.com), he went that extra mile to ensure my wife would be satisfied with her strawberry roses. We've had some issues with floral delivery services, so this may be something we'll try in the future!

Just wanted to share that with y'all!

Cheers! M2

Last year, someone sent us a chocolate-dipped arrangement from their original store on Blanco and it was good.

I've seen them deliver to my neighbors a couple of times, too. It's a nice alternative to flowers.

I've used them quite a bit (not the Alamo Ranch location) and have had wonderful results each and every time.
