I agree, the prices of a sub are ridiculous, but what else is there that's fast, convenient, tasty and not too fatty?*

And I think it's $5 for a footlong after 5pm...is it not? That's why they say "5 for 5".

*I usually got tuna thinking that it was healthy...but it turned out to be higher in calories than a Big Mac! Check out the nutrition label next time..you'll be shocked.

They're pretty darn good. They are as authentic as Portillo's in downtown Chicago. You can always ask for more mustard or celery salt if you want. Nick's (now JR's I think) and Jerry's really brought the first real authentic Chicago dogs to SA, but I think Sonic's are just as good now.

I only get the lowfat ones, and the fat-free toppings, no cheese. The deal (and I know this because my son and I have been walking 2 miles each way to eat there) is: after 4, 1 footlong is $5, 2 are $9, and 3 are $12. It's a good deal if you eat a 6 in. for dinner and take the other half for lunch the next day.

Yeah, the tuna is terrible!! Same with their cheesesteaks and especially the meatballs, which my son LOVES but now that I showed him the chicken with meatball sauce and parmesan, he's switched to that. You get some fat in the sauce but not enough to clog you completely, just maybe the right side.

I tried the Sonic Manhattan hot dog (how I miss those) and they missed the mark. I will have to try the Chicago dog though..

My husband gets the same thing. It is pretty tasty with the sauce and chicken.
