Plus he has ordered 7 burritos. When I noticed he was staying in a hotel, I figured maybe he was from out of town. No way is he a San Antonian who eats that much

Yep, very easy to believe less than half the people here graduate high school. I remember back when I used to think that was impossible. That opinion lasted a couple days...

You keep quoting that fact, but where does it come from? This forum's statistics on San Antonio show the percentage of non-high school graduates as being about 25%, not "less than half" as you keep proclaiming.

ISDs in Houston, Dallas, Ft Worth and Austin have lower graduation rates than SA according to this article (4th and 5th worst out of the 50 largest school districts in the country). Fort Worth ISD had a graduation rate of 50%, ranking it the 12th worst; and Austin ISD had a graduation rate of 58.5 percent, ranking it the 19th worst. NISD came in 30th with 62.8%.

Overall, attrition and dropout rates in Texas haven't changed in 25 years, according to the Intercultural Development Research Association. As a matter of fact, based on the 08-09 school year (the last year's worth of data they've published), the state's attrition rate was 29%, less than 30 percent for the first time in 25 years. And, if you'll notice, that puts San Antonio above the state average!

While that's still nothing to brag about, it's a far cry from the "less than half the people here graduate high school" you claim!

I can't see how or why anyone could choose NOT to want to graduate high school. Man, have times changed? It was unheard of when I was going to school. The biggest issue that I remember was the rumor that someone got pregnant. This was only 11 years ago....and it was in a border town...
