Default Birth certificate emergency!

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a copy of a San Antonio birth certificate in one day if I go to the office in person?

Yes, I just got one for $24 at the service center at Blanco and West. Took about 15 minutes.

Here's the community service center locations:
http://www.sanantonio.gov/customer/centers.asp

also, the fee was $23 but $1 for using a credit card

Just to add, you can get your Texas birth certificate in any county in Texas. Same price, same amount of time.

Yup, no kidding.

I think most of us end up getting the birth certificate when it's time for the kid to start kindergarten though...$24 for a piece of paper seems high, but it definitely pays for itself in peace and quiet once they're in school

I went to private school and they never needed my birth certificate, just my baptism certificate...so when I decided to elope when I turned 18, I had to send away to Idaho to get my birth certificate. My mom had never paid to get it.

That is exactly why I needed to get one. NISD is expecting record enrollment this year at Kinder Round-up and I am not risking having the little one bussed to who-knows-where!

BTW, it took only 5 minutes get it at the Blanco Rd office. thanks everyone for the advice.
