I would hope that those hotels are a bit cheaper:
The Holiday Inn El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel | San Antonio |San Antonio Family Hotel
Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk
The Riverwalk Vista Hotel | San Antonio, Texas
Inn on the Riverwalk

not sure about the rooms availability...

Hmm.. There's a new Marriott on the riverwalk, its called courtyard by Marriott riverwalk on north st. Marys street.. Its a Marriott, but I do know sometimes they run specials. It never hurts to try! If not, there is a brand new embassy suites on the riverwalk also! Good luck!

$150 a night per room at the Grand Hyatt is not bad, especially being such a new property and it's location on the river. However, try the Drury, not only should the prices be lower but there are added bonuses like free breakfast and free happy hour drinks and snacks. That could reduce part of your dining budget.

edit - Drury Plaza

Try the Drury on loop 410 amd Jones Maltsburger by the airport. It's a lot less expensive and they do have a shuttle service for guests going downtown, plus your only 15 minutes from downtown.
