I need to find a place to take my dog for a week. He has only been kenneled once for two days. Since we are new to the area, I have no idea where to take him. Please help!!!!!

What side of town are you on?

We had a good experience with Camp Bow Wow off Jones-Maltsberger/Starcrest last week.

We board at our vet's office, Towne North, on 281 @ Bitters. Petsmart also boards. They are more expensive for us, as we have an 11 pound rat terrier. If you have a large dog, Petsmart would probably be about the same.

We also used to use Rob Cary on Wetmore Rd. Excellent place.

I like Rob Cary a whole lot.

There was a thread about dog boarding on here a few months back, and someone had had a good experience at Pawderosa Ranch off Nakoma. I was interested in there because they have doggie day care all day and the dogs are allowed to play and run around more than at other facilities. Might be worth looking into.

We love The Palms Pet Resort in Helotes. Our lab loves it when he goes because we add on the puppy playtime so he gets to play with other dogs.

Lovely facility, friendly people, very clean...

Ditto on The Palms! It is a little more than I hoped to pay but I am very particular with my Yorkie-Girl and I have been pleased. She is not dog-social at all so they place her in a little room by herself with interaction with the techs, no dogs. She has been there twice and done great. Also have Sunday pick up but you pay fo rthe whole day. It's worth it just to get her back!

Also try Home Away From Home. It's off Bandera close to 1604. Its family owned, and the owners our previous Zoologist. We have 5 dogs yes 5 ha, and they always take great care of them while were gone. They also have many discounts for Military, Teachers, etc.

There's also Alamo Heights Kennel Club. They're excellent and can even bathe your dogs while you're away (i'm sure most can too). I've used them a few times. Just make sure your dog has all of the vaccines required by kennels, and not just their annuals.
