I'm looking for a Christian High School in the northern San Antonio area.

I'm hoping for a school with affordable tuition, a TAPPS athletics district, and a decent sized student body.

Although I'd preferably like a Christian High School, if there was a private non-denominational school with the requirements that I listed above, I might consider that as well.

What about a Public High School that has excellent education?
I'm not interested in an average Public High School, but if there was one with impressive education as Winston Churchill High School, but maybe a smaller number of enrollment, I may consider that as well.

Yeah, any information would help.
Thanks.

I am not aware of any Christian High Schools on the northside other than SACS on Redland Road outside loop 1604 (www.sachristianschools.org). SACS is a TAPPS member however I don't know how many students attend.

If you choose to send your student to public school you'll have a hard time sending them to a school that is outside your area. Fortunately, most NEISD high schools received an "recognized" or better rating from the TEA last year (87%). Only Johnson, Reagan, and the International School of the Americas received an "exemplary" rating for high schools. Churchill only received a "recognized" AEIS rating for 2010.

On the far north side is SACS, which has a relatively high tuition. I believe their enrollment is around 900 students from k4-12.

Tuition and Fees :: San Antonio Christian Schools

The only other comparable private Christian school in SA is Cornerstone Christian. They are not currently in TAPPS, but they are less expensive. The school currently competes in TCAL, but is vying diligently in the Texas government for admittance into UIL.

Tuition & Fees | Main

Also note, when comparing tuition and fees, that CCS is a flat rate school, whereas SACS has additional fees on top of the standard tuition.

All that being said, there are vital things to look into when comparing Christian schools. Some of those things being core values and how they are integrated, curriculum, extra-curriculars, approachability to administration, communication with faculty and staff.
