Or like Dallas-Fort Worth International? Los Angeles International?

A lot of these places (think Houston, Chicago, New York, etc.) have more than one major airport. There are a lot of things higher on my would-like-to-see list than re-naming the local airport.

If that were the case, shouldn't it then be "San Antonio-Mexico Airport"?

I know our airport pales in general to most others, but at the very least we could have a decent name, don't you think?

Feel free to call it Alamo Field

San Antonio International Airport was founded in 1941 when the City of San Antonio purchased 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) of undeveloped land north of the city limits for a project to be called “San Antonio Municipal Airport.” The airport was opened in July 1942 as Alamo Field

It would be up to the SA city council to rename the airport and I don't trust our $20/meeting city council reps to make a wise naming decision. If forced to pick a name, they probably would go with Henry C.

I'm still fuming that they named one of the city's largest parks after Phil Hardberger so soon after his 4 years in office. Nothing against Mayor Phil, but I consider that a symptom of how our city council usually acts as if it knows about nothing that happened prior to the current calendar year nor cares about what will happen after the current year.

How about Taco Miller Ancira Alamo Gunn International? Think about the money we could be raking in for naming rights!
