I've a feeling that there's more to this - maybe this isn't the first time she's done this to them or one of their other friends.

If you come into my home as a trusted guest, there's cash, jewelry and firearms in any of several locations. My friends know this, and I trust them. They ALSO know me - and that to betray my trust would result in their prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. Sorry - I'm an "old school" type of guy - my friends can have anything I own, as long as I am willing to give it. The moment they take something from me without permission, they have proven themselves unworthy of my friendship, and therefore unworthy of my concern for the consequences of their actions.
Well maybe you don't understand addiction. People that are drug addicts will beg, borrow, and steal from their own mother to get what they need. They are desperate. You would think if you are a true friend to the person you would want to help them instead of condemning them. I'm sure you have made mistakes you regret in life as we all have.

Some posts indicate that Karen's apprearance has declined. I see her every week and she looks lovely in my opinion. Shes always immaculate in dress and makeup and shes always been thin. Unfortunately the years do give all of us graceful lines , some not so graceful. Shes gotten older but her appearance has definitely not declined. Not that apprearance matters so much . Lets not try to judge her until we hear all the facts. Speculation is never good.

*sighs* I was a huge fan of hers back in the day. And even until this day, I still can't believe the news.

It warms my heart -really- to see such sympathy for this poor woman. I wonder, though, how many who are rightly sympathetic to Ms. Gallagher ripped Rush Limbaugh a new one when his addiction was discovered.

In truth all addicts are worthy of sympathy. No one wants to be an addict. No one.

Rush Limbaugh is a filthy rich idiotic buffon who spews garbage. That's why many were happy to see him fail, albeit, not completely in life.

Yes sir, I have. What I have NOT done is steal from a friend. Period. Ever. THAT is not the action of a friend - regardless of the excuse. That's the action of a thief.

No, it's the action of a thief, or an addict.

And I think she looks pretty good in that booking photo.

Maybe Limbaugh would have gotten more support from people had he not spoken out so aggressively against drug addicts in the first place. He set himself up for failure by talking out of both sides of his mouth.

This tangent is OK so far, but the loose ends in it have the potential to foment a thread hijack.

You're in the San Antonio forum. Rush Limbaugh was cited above for comparison as a fellow media professional who got into legal trouble over abusing prescription drugs. He doesn't live here and he discusses national politics and other things that are off topic in this forum on a nationally syndicated radio show. This is not the place to post a rant about any aspect of him besides his drug issues.

If you're going to reply about him, try to weave in a mention of Karen Gallagher, too. It'll help keep the thread on topic.
