Areas To Live In San Antonio - Will Work At USAA
I am in the process of relocating to San Antonio from Phoenix to work for USAA.
My wife and I do like modern amenities and modern housing spaces (kitchens are nice and big in more modern homes typically versus older homes).
We want to make sure we are in areas with strong schools and low crime. Thus far, I have narrowed my search down to these zips:
78015, 78023, 78231, 78232, 78247, 78249, 78253, 78254, 78255, 78258, 78259, 78260, 78261, 78266.
I know it is a lot of zips, but, I am just beginning my analysis and wanted to get feedback from others that are familiar with the San Antonio area and possibly USAA.
I welcome any feedback you may have regarding neighborhoods, traffic patterns, crime issues, and any other pertinent information relating to my inquiry. Thanks.

As one of my all-time favorite SNL characters would say... That's the ticket.

Zip codes that would be the best for a commute would be 78249, 78254, and also the Helotes area is nice too. Of course traffic on 1604 is bad during peak times, however there are so many backroads to USAA. Depends on how much dinero you want to spend too! Also, don't know if you have heard about the USAA Mover's Advantage, but it they pay you a cash bonus after you close. Not too bad, and you don't even have to use their mortgage company.

Yes, I am aware of it per their relocation documentation I had received. Thanks.

There is some NICE homes much closer to USAA in the 78240 area. Check out Pembrook Estates and Pembrook Forest in a search of realtors listings if you are interested in living less than 8 minutes from USAA. School districts are the same as 78254 without the traffic.

Southside, You Are Joking Right?
What are the zips you speak of? Are you joking? I have heard the best schools are North and NorthEast districts.

Look into subdivisions in Boerne. Nice drive and the traffic is not too terrible.

Manfre, "ILoveWomenwithBlackGstrgs" is trying to be facetious. Nothing against Southside or Westside, but if you are new in town, they probably aren't the areas for you.
If you have kids, then you are right that schools are good in NEISD and NISD. Also in Alamo Heights (but not as close to USAA). There are other good districts, too, but it sounds like you have already done some research and are on the right track.

Well, he/she more than likely is but the far west side and the southeast are very nice areas to live in and anyone moving to SA would have no problem with those areas.
The far west side is the fastest growing sector of San Antonio.
But like you said, he was being facetious as he simply said westside and not far westside.
