Default Bluffs at Canyon Springs

We are having a house built there and since it was a small neighborhood, I was wondering if I have any neighbors on this forum. There are I think only 3 or for houses that actually have occupancy in the neighborhood right now. Maybe you live nearby? ~Christine

Welcome to the neighborhood! I live at the Links @ Canyon Springs and my family love it! I wish there are more amenities for paying $267/quarter HOA dues. There's a mini basketball court, tennis court, mini playground, and swimming pool. I have a friend that lives at the Enclave, and she's requesting a gate for her community since she's also paying the same amount. Also, there has been a changed to the zip code from 78258 to 78260. If you have kids attending school, you're zoned to Comal ISD and Specht Elementary is exemplary. My kids attend Canyon Ridge Elementary since the Links is zoned for North East ISD, another exemplary school. I wrote to the NEISD to request new boudaries for the new Lady Bird Johnson scheduled to open in 2008. I was told that as of today, I am zoned for Canyon Ridge Elementary, Bush Middle, and Reagan High. Over all, it's a good community to live in.

Hi, HI2VegasNowSA, nice to meet you. I am familiar with where you are. The lady works in the office told us to go there to see what our street signs were going to look like. We went, but the gates were closed. I wish we had gates too. My husband really wanted to live at Lakeside of Canyon Springs because of that. I don't know, I have mixed feelings. Right now we are in a temp housing in an apartment that has a gated entry. It's becoming kind of a pain waiting for a gate to open and close coming and going.LOL We were told that even though our neighborhood is not gated, it is still a private road and the HOA takes care of the maintenance. Let me know what your friend's outcome is for her request. Did she get a petition together?

My husband and I have 4 daughters. The youngest is only 4 so she is not in school yet. We are zoned for Specht, but they are capped so one of my daughters has to go to Bulverde Elem. My older two's school is Spring Branch MS. Right now we are living off of 1604 and Huebner area (the apartments where Bigz is at), so we will have a long commute in the mornings and afternoon until our house is built. I am going to call transportation to see if I can just drive the girls to our neighborhood and wait with them until they get on the bus.

I know what you mean about the sllooowww gates, and there's only one gate for the Links. The HOA really maintains the common areas in Canyon Springs, and traffic in your area still ok until the Canyon Golf Rd is completed. She started her own petition, and the last I spoke to her she had probably a fourth of the community resident's signature.

My wife also transported our kids while our house at the links was being built. We lived at one of our rental properties near the Hyatt at Westover Hills while we're builing, and my wife commuted two round trips (50-60 miles) for school each day. We're fortunate to signed our contract before April 30, 2006 to beat the cap on Canyon Ridge Elementary. I have a friend who I met at this forum the former active poster "EdgarAllanPogi" from San Diego, CA, and his daughter will be an 8th grade at Spring Branch MS. You could probably coordinate with the school for transportation. You missed our second meet n' greet at Bigz.

I was just checking to see if there were any updated to the petition. Any luck?
