While cruising down 410 at the 151 yesterday, the windshield of my beloved Jeep Patriot was slammed with a piece of gravel large enough to cause a nick. A crack has now developed and is traveling from the passenger's side toward the middle. Right now, it's about 6 inches long. Can someone please recommend a reputable winshield repair service? Please and thank you.

Have you called your insurance? When it's small like that they'll usually do it for you.

Otherwise I used oh gosh...safelight...that was it. They came out to the office and fixed a mega crack I got while driving to a home visit out in Lockhart. Fast, good, no problems.

Windshield Repair and Auto Glass Replacement - Safelite AutoGlass is good. They come out to your location and repair it or replace it on the spot. You can get an instant quote online. We tried going through our auto insurance but the repair was less than the price of paying the deductible so we paid it out of pocket. It was about $180 2 years ago but depends on your car, etc.

Another rep for safelite.
They just came to my work and fixed mine yesterday. I have nationwide, and it was free. But its probably not too expensive if you have to pay out of pocket.

I can barely see the crack.

410 got me as well. Same area. It looks like they might have finished tearing up the road, so hopefully it won't happen there again. Also, safelite guarantees their work. So keep the paper he'll give you, and if something happens, they will come back and redo it for free. But nothing should happen to it.
