My family and I decided to move to the dallas area next year in june after we save enough money. Now my problem is i really havent done any research on san antonio but my husband really thinks i should because its been said its a medical city. Meaning it would benefit me ALOT! Im a CNA wanting to go back to school(starting this fall) to become a LVN, then i'll be going back for RN later after i secure a job. Is this true about san antonio? Should i be looking at some jobs and homes in the san antonio area?

I think any decent-sized city will have job opportunities. If you'll still be in school after your move, you should look at the schools here, make sure there's one you want to go to and that they will transfer your credits from the classes you'll be taking this fall.

There are a lot of medical facilities and hospitals here, but I think it must be the same in any large city...more people in the city means more need for medical facilities.

You do realize Dallas and San Antonio are completely different cities with hundreds of miles in between them, right? There's no way you could make that commute. As far as SA being a "medical city", there are a lot of hospitals here and I feel it's a great place to be sick or have health issues. Not that I would want any, but your chances of finding somewhere that can treat you for almost anything is Very good. I'd say it's a great place to work if you're in the medical business. Never heard of anyone complaining about not being able to find a medical related job here.

San Antonio has more military medical facilities than any other Texas city. If you're interested in working at one of those, you probably should be looking at San Antonio. The civilian facility opportunities here are fine and abundant, too, but it's the military medical connection that makes San Antonio special for medical careers in Texas.
