Usually lists combine the stats for all degrees, bachelors and higher. San Antonio is at 25%. Dallas and Houston are about 27-29%. I've seen figures for Austin ranging 38-43%. I'm still waiting for the city's planning department to put up the latest data from the 2010 census.

americas-smartest-cities: Personal Finance News from Yahoo! Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/110890/americas-smartest-cities?mod=career-worklife_balance - broken link)

Newsroom: Education: More Working Women Than Men Have College Degrees, Census Bureau Reports

Here you go Alalmocpl. For clarity, yes I do know the stat for a "highly educated" city. Being in the education field I read this type of material consistently seeing as it is a huge part of my job. SA, good not great. Always room for improvement. Secondly, I guess I should not be worried about the obesity rates in this city due to high caloric, processed diets combined with inactivity of persons. I will take my observations elsewhere, however all you have to do it go to a mall and wait thirty minutes. Count how many overweight/obese people you see. You'll thank me later

And I'm sure you're the model of health and beauty.

It's easier to write that stuff on the computer where we have no visual of you, huh?

I really dont consider an $8/hr call center job "white collar".

They forgot the foot note to the 76% "Of those that actually work in San Antonio".

What is the % that live entirely off government assistance and dont work at all?

I would also like to see a breakdown of the household income...how many of those are retirees?

What I pulled from the 2010 census was for the San Antonio-New Braunfels MSA, so I don't know if poorer counties are pulling down the average and San Antonio's median income is actually higher. The median family income in our MSA is $44,591 and the median household income is $39,023. I downloaded the FFIEC software.

Demean a call center job all you want, it's still blue collar. And the average wage for a call center CSR position in SA is 11 an hour not 8 an hour. Yes, chump change to a millionaire CEO like you.

Of the 1.3 million that live in San Antonio, nearly 800,000 work.

A great deal of the 500,000 not working are under the legal age to work.

Grasping for anything you can, huh?
