A friend of mine that works at the Cracker Barrel told me that they were building another CB where the old Hollywood Video was on SE Military Dr right in front of the Brooks City Base and that he overheard his boss say that Costco was going to build another store in very close proximity.

Anyone know if that has any validity to it? It makes sense being that they all on the 1604 loops between 10 and 35 and that the closest "wholesale" store, Sam's Club, is all the way by Somerset and SW Military.

Just throwing it out there if anyone has heard or knows anything about it.

That's gonna be a Cracker Barrel? I was wondering what they were putting in. As for the other rumor I could see a Sam's before a Costco coming in. Costco's seem to be placed in richer areas. I kinda have a hard time believing that one. I wish they would. I hate having to go to the other side of town to get stuff from Costco.

The whole "richer areas" might have been true 2 years ago, but ever since Costco started accepting WIC as a payment option, they have reallllllly lowered their standards. Finny how you can only pay via cash, check or amex... no mastercard, visa, discover, etc. But they take WIC.

I didn't even notice that they took WIC. Interesting. I guess we will have to wait and see if the rumor turns out to be true. CB West has started building near the state hospital so that's one possible location and I think there's still some land next to Lowes (this is where I would think they would build...visible from the highway.) That would be awesome if they did. Heck I'd be thrilled with a Sam's. I've got membership to both.

Is WIC accepted for everything of just for basic food items (e.g. Milk)? I'd love to see someone trying to buy a 60" LCD TV with WIC ...that would be news worthy!

I'd love Costco to open more stores in the south...current ones are too crowded...

Yep, cash, check, AX. But remember that for years, Sam's only took Discover. As for WIC, I don't know. WIC is basic high protein/calcium items (milk, eggs, cheese, PB etc.) Wonder if they will begin accepting Lonestar, too? Sorry, we've now gone waaay OT.

Wouldn't mind a 4th Costco in SA...sometimes, they sell out of an item so quick, we have to go to another to get it.

WIC provides formula, milk, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal, and veggies to pregnant women and to children under 5.

Not TV's

Sams takes Lonestar now...I've seen people using it.

Doesn't matter to me, I'm just glad that I don't need it.

Yea they are taking Lonestar now too. They were kind of forced to because Sam's was accepting it as well. I wonder if the Government pays for their membership too....
