I have never heard them talk about Godai. The Japanese folks I work with are actually from Japan and consider Nikki's the closet thing to back home that you can find here in SA.

As for myself, I would actually prefer sushi zushi. Never tried Godai but I am curious now!

I don't know... I have been going to Thai Corner ever since a roach walked across our table at Sompong's. I've never had a bad experience there. The spicy basil, panang curry and pad thai are some of the best I've had in town. Where do you get your Thai fix at?

I need to try Nikki's. I never heard of it. As for SushiZushi, eh, Its good if you're in a hurry. Nothing special though IMO.

Just letting y'all know so you don't think Hu Hot is Mongolian food. LOL.

edit: And thanks for the info on Koreana Restaurant! I'm gonna have to check it out and compare it to Ilsong Garden!

Well, I don't like horse so, HuHot is as authentic mongolian as I care to do. I really define mongolian as an americanized mongolian grill experience.

LOL. Typical American attitude. Nothing wrong with that, though.

And when you guys say "Nikki's", you mean NIKI's Tokyo Inn, right? On Hildebrand? I'll have to check them out sometime. I'm in the mood for some Japanese food!

edit: Looking at the Google Maps streetview, I think I've been there! Our car got pooped on a lot by some birds in their parking lot! I'll have to check 'em out again. Minus the bird poop, por favor.

Yeahhhhhh, in America we ride horses, we don't eat them.

But to each his own...

I havent eaten at Panda Inn or Hung Fong since the late 80's. That's because each restaurant gave me a good case of the "runs" and I will never forget the pain of it all. I will stick to burgers and fries.

They tried opening a second location on 1604 that didn't work out. The original on West is still open as far as I know.

Some of the positive posts on this thread inspired me to try it again, I was actually a little excited, a good large buffet is hard to find, esp close to home, but it was a terrible experience. The food was either tasteless or tasted bad, much of it was stone cold. I don't expect much from "super buffets" but I can usually find a few dishes I like, not tonight. Even the rice and noodles were awful! I even tried many things I usually pass on, still nothing was really edible. The only thing that I liked a little were the shelled mussels, which were cooked in a salty onion broth, they were ok but you can't make a whole meal of them. Even my water tasted bad, with a strong metal oder. To top it off, my server never came to give me refills, even when I looked right at him and raised my hand! I actually went to the station and filled my own, and he still wouldn't check on me. I did two things tonight I havent done in a restaurant as long as I can remember, spit food into my napkin (3 times!) rather than have it in my mouth a moment longer, and leave a penny tip on the table (tail side up). To top it all, when I paid the cashier asked if everything was good and I politely said "No, my food wasn't very good", to which she said "Hokay, thank you"! I was flabbergasted and then said "the service was terrible too" which was met with another "Hokay thank you"! I quickly left as I could feel a rage coming on. I actively hate that place now, and will prob rant about it forever to anyone that will listen. I would advise anybody that likes to go there to try the nearby ASIA BUFFET on Austin Highway instead, it's not very good either, but it's worlds better than CH.
Wowee...I happened to go there yesterday and mentioned your experience. I asked them how they handle complaints and all the cashier said was that they will work on it. Normally everything is good there including the service but yesterday the food wasn't that up to par. Hmmm...I mentioned that too when I was asked if everything was ok. I hope the quality of it's not declining specially since I so highly recommended that place. I did leave a note on the table for them to clean their tea and water dispensers better. Since I am a regular there and they sorta know me I am hoping they do work on it.
