Hi all, I am in my early 30's, considering a move to San Antonio. I have several job options, in either New Braunfels or SA. I am single, laid back, and not into the bar scene. My initial reaction was that I should look in Austin, but the college town and 6th street vibe really isn't for me. Maybe I'm overgeneralizing, but I get the sense that its a "party town". So, my question is...how is San Antonio for a single woman who loves being outdoors and being active in general?

Most will say being single in SA is hard.

All I can say is I came here as a single woman in my 30s. Met lots of other people (male and female, single mid 20s-30s). Of that initial group I became close to, all of us found partners here, all very happily. If you're outgoing, willing to go new places, try new things, be friendly and meet people, you will find like minded folks.

I am married now with 2 kids, but I didn't start out in SA that way ;-)

Pretty much my story, too, sans the kids. I too was single when I moved here, in my mid-30s. I met many awesome female friends here and we were out and about all the time. Most of us met and married men we met here in San Antonio.

Being single in SA was, for me, a hell of a lot of fun. (Being married is a hell of a lot of fun too - I chalk that up to meeting a guy in SA who was also single and having fun!)

Agree with Chaka about being outgoing, willing to try new things/go to new places, be friendly and meet others - you'll have a great time!
