To the idiot who threw a lit cigarette butt out his window at the entrance to Fair Oaks Ranch, turning left onto the I10 access road at 4:03pm this afternoon.....are you out of your $&#*$^@* MIND???? I have your license plate # and have reported you to the Don't Mess With Texas website. I wish there was more I could do.

I feel your pain. I almost got out at a light one day to throw the butt back in the car of a person I saw throwing it out. It pisses me off to no end. The only thing that stopped me was that my kids were with me but if I was alone..........

Oh, I have been sooo tempted to do that, numerous times! If this hadn't been a stop sign, I might've done it - even though my 7 year old was in the car. We did have a good talk about what a bad choice that driver made.....

The butts eventually degrade... but until they do.

Oh, are they biodegradeable? Sorry, non-smoker here. IF that's the case, then that's a good reason why people may be throwing them out...they think it's OK since they are biodegradeable.

I threw one out the window once. It wasnt lit so you guys only get to yell at me for littering. Anyway about a week later I got a letter in the mail from TxDOT (I think) with a litterbag in it....

...I found the humor in it.

It's the lit ones that **** me off the most since those are the ones that start the fires.

Yes, but... if there is still fire in them then with the dry conditions down here it might be enough to start a blaze.

No ash trays in the new modern vehicles... at least not in mine. Doesn't bother me because I don't need them.

Last week some guy threw his butt out right in front of me. I KNOW it was still lit because it flared up when it hit my windshield! I guess it's a small blessing that it hit my car instead of the grassy divider!

In the winter, I think maybe those mostly-empty beer cans are the worst, but in the summer it's definitely butts.
