Ok... so I'm having a lot of issues with housing right now. CityData help?

I think I've determined that the best place for me to be in San Antonio and make the commute into Floresville would be around the Trinity campus. Let me know if you have any better, affordable, safe areas for a young female who is a recent grad. I don't have a roommate anymore. So my question is.. would there be any efficiencies around Trinity that would be 500 or so a month? Or... do you know of any apartments that do potluck roommates? As in, you move into a 2,3, or 4 bedroom and they put other people there? It was really common in Austin but I'm not so sure about San Antonio.

Other ideas? . Living in a room in a random person's house from a Craigslist ad doesn't sound like a good plan...

Thank you!

Most 1 BR apts. in the area go for ~650/mo. + utilities. You can probably find an efficiency for ~$500 on CL. Yes, I think the commute is doable. The area (Monte Vista, Alta Vista, Tobin Hills) is very central and you would be going against the traffic.

Drive down Bushnell between McCullough and Summit; there are small apt units on that street. Also drive down Hollywood and surrounding streets between McCullough and Summit, you will find plenty of duplex type of apts.
