Aren't there plans for a Mexican/Spanish themed shopping complex near there?
I can't think of the development name. At any rate I think traffic in the area is going to be real concern in a few short years.

The house lot sizes are very small, at least the ones that back out on to Military (what a view!).

Default Wonderful neighborhood

My family and I are moving into a lovely neighborhood down there this week. My husband is going to be teaching in Stevens High School this year so we had to move closer to his school. We decided on the neighborhood just north of Portranco and just on the west side of 1604. I think it is called Westcreek Oaks (can't remember). What we loved about it is that it is an established neighborhood with lots of trees and families. It seems very quiet. We are half a block from Galm Elementary which is a recognized school. There is a preschool/daycare close by over off of Talley Rd (Little Lions Learning Academy). I haven't checked them out yet, but I will. We just drove around through the neighborhoods and explored. We checked out the neighborhoods around SeaWorld. In the neighborhood we looked at across from the high school there were not as many trees, houses seemed a little less taken care of and the little park for the kids was full of trash and ant hills. I would recommend that you just explore the neighborhoods. Notice the things that I mentioned. Walk around the block. Talk to the neighbors.
Hopefully I will have you and your wife as neighbors. I have little ones also...ages 4 and 6.

Welcome to Westcreek! Here is their web page:

Villages of Westcreek

Three things to remember and you'll be OK.
1. Keep your grass cut
2. Don't leave your garbage can out on a non-pick-up trash day
3. Pay your dues on time (the most important)
