And I have to say this, but I HIGHLY doubt the Jaguars go to L.A.

I really do, because I see it as the media wanting the Jags in L.A. more than L.A. does. I think they push this because the franchise isn't 20 years old yet and has (supposedly) low support, which is funny seeing how a few of the most beloved, MUCH older franchises were worse off in attendance than Jacksonville last seaon.

ST. Louis has 7 500 SA has 6 so they are comprable corporate wise, SA has a lower unemployment and better job market. San Antonio has a stronger economy, im sure there is more I'll need to look at the strengths of St. Louis.

Default LA Going To Beat SA To Da Punch...............

actually, shovels breaking ground on a los angeles nfl stadium would indicate that it's a done deal. that's because construction on the proposed downtown stadium cannot begin until the developer (AEG) reaches an ironclad agreement with a team to move to the city - this is explicitly stated in the memorandum of understanding that the LA city council approved yesterday.

so nothing can happen (construction-wise) until the relocating team agrees to move to LA. during construction, the newly relocated team would temporarily play in either the los angeles coliseum or the rose bowl until farmers field is completed.

btw, i do agree with you that the nfl to LA is still not a given - there are several obstacles that need to be overcome before a team would agree to relocate to the city. but it certainly seems like a pretty realistic possibility at this point, given the series of stadium-related developments that have unfolded in LA over the past year or two. right now, i'd place the odds of it happening as better than 70/30.

Why do you think the number of Fortune 500 companies is the only measure to corporate presence? Companies have huge operations in cities without having their HQ there. So no, SA does not have a bigger corporate base than San Diego (which has the luxury of being right next to the beast that is LA....they even share suburbs in Riverside County). St. Louis is another metro area with a larger corporate base than San Antonio. That shouldn't come as a surprise though. SA pulls less than its own weight when it comes to things like personal income and GDP. That's why there isn't an NFL team in SA.

lol and San Diego's cost of living, cost of housing, unemployment all undermine anything that would put it ahead of SA.

If I thought your cases had some truth to it then maybe, but they don't not even a shred.
