Default Job ideas for a 16 year old

I was turned away from Pizza Hut because they were only hiring drivers. I after I submitted my application to Jason's Deli then gave a follow-up call and they said they were reviewing applications and I haven't heard from them since. I also haven't heard from Whataburger. What are some other places I can apply to? Only other places I can think of are HEB and Ingram Park mall.

This is my first post btw.

Ok When I was 16 things were kinda different. Most guy's had paper routes. I would mow lawns and paint houses.

HEB will almost certainly hire you, but I'd also try the drug stores (CVS, Walgreens).

Try retail stores they will hire lots of teenagers since it is has a high turn over rate. Almost holiday time so I'd start looking for seasonal positions now. If you do a really good they might keep you on after the holidays. Check out Job Search | View All Job Openings | Summer Jobs Now Hiring they have tons of part-time jobs listed Good luck

Check w/local, independent businesses as well. A friends son was hired by a plumber for the summer - they liked him so well that they've told him he can come in on weekends, etc. during the school year.

H-E-B is actually a really good place to work...fairly flexible with hours and, if you qualify, they have a Scholarship program to help fund your college education...

I believe Bill Miller's hires 16 year olds.

When I was in high school, there were lots of retired people in my neighborhood, I made good money mowing lawns, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, cleaning flower beds, putting turbine covers on/off, changing the time on all the clocks/vcrs.

It is hard for kids to mow lawns these days with all companies with grown men mowing lawns.
