How are they calculated? We got an electric car recently and I just want to know what's up with the calculations and whatnot.

Is it a flat rate across all hours? Or is it cheaper at night? What's the situation? Googling isn't really giving me any answers.

Thanks in advance!

Even though it doesn't make a difference with your residential rate, it is always better to charge that car at night, when demand on the system is lowest and they have excess capacity. Figure that is probably when you would do it anyway.

No nighttime differential, AFIK.

I have an analog meter on my house, that they come by once per month and take a reading from. I don't know of any way for them to be able to distinguish how much I used at night vs. daytime.

Unless you have a smart meter, there is no way for CPS to know when you use electricity.
