Just got back from the Cameo Theater to see High Hair and Jalapenos...what a FANTASTIC show!!!

I highly encourage you not to miss this one...it is a spoof that pokes fun at all things Texas with a special focus on San Antonio. We laughed so hard my sides hurt!!!!

They have a military discount and I think seniors as well.

Right off of Commerce street across from Ruths Chris/Sunset station area...and they do have a website you can select your seats at and purchase your tickets from. Parking is free and dress is as casual as you would like!

It runs thru 31 Aug, and I think it is their best show yet (and we have LOVED all their shows!)

ONLY complaint I had for todays show was Tracy was sick and not there to make us one of her WORLD FAMOUS BLACK CHERRY MARGARITAS!!!!

We will just have to enjoy 2 next show!

I read the reviews on that one, and they were great. I love that place!

I have to say-- the title of this thread made me look! I'll have to go see it. I usually get email from Cameo announcing the new shows. Guess I missed this one. Thanks for the reminder! I'll report back.

Would this be appropriate for 15 yr olds? My daughter and her friend love plays, and I'm hoping this might be something they could see.

Here's one review from today--it doesn't say specifically in the article that it's adult-themed. We went to one show on NYE and it was definitely adult-oriented and the reviews stated as much. I would think they'd do the same thing for this one. There is a bar at the front of the theater, but even on New Year's people were behaving themselves.

The Downtown Blog | mySA.com (http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/downtown/2008/08/review_high_hair_and_jalapeos.html - broken link)

But then, I haven't seen this particular one--so Paka? Come out, come out, wherever you are!

I too saw the show on sneak-preview night and it was great. Real gem of the city in this theatre. Get out of your box one night and go try it!

Ooooh!!! I want to see this. I'll be in town the last weekend of August, so I'm going to see if I can corral my sister to go with me on Sunday afternoon!
