Nobody needs NFL football. We're not talking about livers here. But it would be nice to be able to spend a Sunday afternoon downtown or out on I35 tailgating and watching some quality pro football live and in person.

Forget about whether San Antonio is too poor or not big enough or any of the myriad reasons people give on here to portray the city as incapable of supporting an NFL team. Just to have a team to support locally and to actually see play in person would be worth any price for this football fan.

I remember going to games at Fedex Field to watch the Redskins when I lived in Northern Virginia and there is surely nothing like it. It's a happening, a huge local event and immensely fun and entertaining. That's what I wish for San Antonio and San Antonians sometime in the near future.

The meadin (sp?) income in the 78261(TPC parkway off 281) zip code is $112k a year.
This is a true number my company got from a national research firm when when
we looking to open a new office. This was true in the 5 mile
radius around that zip.
All that does not matter, as long as LA does not have a team, there is
No way in he!! SA will get one first!!

NFL and San Antonio just aren't happening. We're not willing to put up the money for a new stadium (ie, tax hike) and there isn't the private support financially to make it happen otherwise, so why do we still kick that can on a near-weekly basis?

SA could use so many other things before the NFL that also require a good deal of money to start-up: Arts, music, scholarship funding, etc. A world class city doesn't need the NFL to be 'world class.' It needs things of a worldly nature with interests beyond professional sports, tailgating and Fiesta parades. Once again, let's keep moving up, not sideways.
