First Friday, First Saturday... I am still confused where to go and how to find out about happenings? Can you give me some specific places or event calendars?

cookie: first friday is centralized around blue star complex and the area around south alamo. we usually start at the complex and walk around nearby neighborhoods. it happens every month.

1400 S.Alamo, San Antonio, TX 78204

there are a number of galleries in the complex including the actual bluestar gallery, cactus bra, stonemetal press, etc. say si (non profit org for supporting children and the arts) is nearby and usually open for ff. r gallery, recently opened by alex rubio, is down flores street (110 E. La Chapelle), and all along south alamo there are usually business and galleries open. just follow the crowd. there's also a lot of great places to eat. stonemetal press has loteria fridays, every third friday of the month, where you have dinner, play loteria and have a chance to win some great original fine art prints http://www.stonemetal-press.com/

second friday is called the tobin art walk and is held every month.
Tobin Hill Art Walk
it's downtown but not near south alamo, and not as big an event, but i do like the galleries. i usually start at highwire and work my way down.

Artists/creative people like to be around people who support creative endeavors. You think they ought leave the neighborhoods that support them in an effort to convert suburbanites? Hilarious.
