The facts are if he was poaching then we wouldn't be reading this kind of article. The most logical explanation is the one being offered, and there is no basis for suspicion otherwise.

I get what he was trying to say. I think most do. My point is the patronizing attitude among every one of his "defenders". Not all of us are schooled in Killing Endangered Species 101. When people start to cite their sources properly, you'll start seeing suspicions back off. You'll always have people who will wonder...that's human nature. To try to force a response on folks just by saying, "Look, you guys clearly know nothing, and I know most everything on the subject...so listen to me even though you know nothing about me or who I am." and then get all defensive because people are still wondering what's up...well, it sorta rubs me the wrong way.

but that's just me.

While you arm chair generals are deciding that the land owner should be convicted of his crime, did you ever think that there was something wrong with the animal? Bears do not like humans and the fact that it even exposed itself to a human means something was already wrong with it. Going for water? How stupid can people get. It's normal for all wild animals to check out a watering hole before they even approach it. They'll sit out of sight waiting for any human activity to go away, then get their water which is usually around dusk or dawn, when human eye sight is weakest.
Regardless, where were all of you when one ran across Judith Zafferinis yard and they called out everybody that had a gun within 50 miles. The only ones that didn't show up for that was Special Forces. Judges, DPS, Texas Rangers, local and county police, just about everybody.
Be nice.

So the rancher's defenders should have cited their sources properly? When none of us were there, but some of us are quick to pass judgement as evidenced by all the name calling,
Quote:
"This trigger-happy loser better get what's coming to him." "this trigger happy moron just wanted another "trophy" "Hooray for the bad ass with a gun. "poor widdle hunter boy"
then get offended when others come to the rancher's defense? Something about that rubs me the wrong way.

I haven't been hunting in many years, but I believe what TrapperL, majormadmax, and TexasRedneck have written. I don't need them to quote me the hunting regulations for it to make sense.

But then that's me...

I wonder how many people faced with the same scenario, walking along with your two dogs and along comes this bear - and yes, even a 100 lb bear can do some damage - according to the source in the link below, a 100 lb bear can kill a 200 lb person - what would they do? If it were me and I had a gun, I know what the answer would be.
