Two more stores is the plan, according to the employee I overheard in post 614 above. Your ideal locations won't be popular with the Alamo Ranch-area folks in this thread.

I think it's pretty obvious we need another in the '09. Maybe on Austin Highway. Why mess with success.

I've shopped here 3 times, and the store is too small. I decided to search for the infamous cookie butter since I've never tried it. Apparently, there is a cookie butter shortage, and you have to be there at a certain time to get a jar of their limited supply. I found out that the Speculoos Cookie Butter is nothing but a knockoff of Biscoff Spread (I didn't pay attention to the mention in this thread) which is readily available at HEB and Walmart. I wasn't going to inconvenience myself to be at TJ's at a certain time for a knockoff, especially since the real thing comes in creamy and crunchy while the cookie butter only comes in crunchy. I don't like crunchy peanut butter, so I figured I wouldn't like a crunch, peanut butter alternative.

Edit: I see they have regular cookie butter now. I'm still not going to inconvenience myself over a knockoff. There is even a Facebook page dedicated to the shortage, and people are buying jars off of the internet. Apparently, this product is really popular in Asia. It's contributing to the shortage because people are hoarding jars and shipping them overseas.

We bought some of the Biscoff spread because we couldn't get cookie butter, but we liked the cookie butter better (say THAT three times!) I guess one tends to prefer what one is used to. The smooth was the original, the crunchy came later. I cannot imagine hunting for it online, though. If I go, and they have it, I get my one (one allowed per customer right now)...if not, no worry.

But they have a lot of items my family really likes (croissants, orange chicken, rice pilaf, etc) so I go every few weeks

My husband was at a Trader Joe's out in California earlier this month and there was no shortage of either version of cookie butter there. They took him right to the display and told him there was no limit to how many he could buy at one time. They were surprised when he told them about the shortage here and how it is kept behind the counter with a single jar purchase limit.

I will have to try this cookie butter to see if it is indeed better than Biscoff. Biscoff is already crack in a jar.
