Okay so my boyfriend is in an Allied Heatlh program at St. Phillips and he noticed that they added a "special tuition" cost of $700 on top of the regular in-district tuition.

It happened out of nowhere and the schools have not given any students any notice of it. This has happened to a lot of students in all the other programs as well.

Did we miss something? I know tuition was going up but a $700 charge without notice and cannot find an explanation anywhere? Just wondered if anyone knew anything.

Thanks!

I attend SAC and I wasn't charged an extra $700, but I'm not in a vocational program. I'm in an associate of arts program.

I can remember when tuition at SAC was around $100. That was in early 90's. Tuition at UTSA at the time was about $500.

I can't believe it when I hear about SAC costing more now than UTSA used to back then.

Have him go to the registrar or business office for a copy of his semester tuition bill. Who's ever working the desk is required to explain every charge and break down of cost. If they don't, then go to their supervisor. At least this was the standard at StMU. Every cent, and they take plenty, was explained and shown to you where it goes. Of course, they didnt show us the Presidents pocket but that was a given.

I 'm in an allied health program there as well and it's just extra money they charge because they can.
