Default Report Litterers and Burn Ban Violators?

Hey fellow San Antonians, after almost losing my place to a freakin' wildfire earlier this week, I hate to see people tossing cigarettes out of their car windows... I reported one this morning to dontmesswithtexas.org, but I'm also wondering if there's any way to report this to actual local authorities or report burn ban violations? Has anyone here done this in the past? It just drives me nuts that there is such a real danger and some folks just don't care and will put us all at risk for their laziness.

Can we report to the fire marshal, sheriff, SAPD, TxDPS...?

I'm not sure, but you could probably call 311 and find out.

Wish there was a way to reward people that report these incidents.

not having your city burn down and wasting water/man power down seems like a pretty good reward to me!

Reported several times on that web page. They never responded.
Littering is a part of culture here. I saw people littering on the front of police, and police just looked the other way.

For all your trouble the TXDot will:
TxDOT compares the information to our vehicle registration database and when an exact match is located, we send the litterer a Don’t Mess with Texas litterbag along with a letter reminding them to keep their trash off of our roads.
And you can feel good about doing something to clean up our beloved Lone Star State.
Report a Litterer - Don't Mess With Texas ::dontmesswithtexas.org::
Isn't that a joke???

Littering is not addressed, just dumping large amounts.

Apparently they can be charged with arson though if the discarded cigarette starts a fire. http://www.bexar.org/cmacs/CM/P/Rel%...n%20090711.pdf

If I see some random weirdo flicking a cig & I see it ignite grass in the median, I'm speeding up to the moron & grabbing his license plate before calling 911 ASAP

I would rather stop and try to contain the fire while is small AND call the 911. I always carry at least a gallon of water and fire extinguisher in my car.
