Anyone know of any good spots for merengue/bachata? New in town and I don't want to waste my time going to a club to try to dance banda. I think that's what it's called. It doesn't exist in NYC. Anyway...just looking for a finger pointing to the right direction. Thanks!

Coco Lounge usually has a salsa/merengue band. Check them out off 1604/281 area. Arjon's is a Latin club by the airport.

One of my friends is a dancing fool. He updates his fb profile with pics of him at the clubs all the time. He frequents:

Grand Agave Mexican Cuisine/Club - About The Club (http://grandagave.com/club.htm - broken link) and Arjon's as well.

There's also a meetup group called SaSalsa that would def. have more info.

He's part of a group BachataFusion Bachata Workshops in San Antonio, which is lessons, but they also have Semenya Socials. They'd probably be a good resource on which clubs are best.

Hope that helps. I don't live in that world, so I don't have any personal recs.
